If you looked outside today and thought; “This weather sucks, what am I going to do this weekend?!” then we have the perfect solution for you. Seattle’s Queer Film Festival called Twist starts tonight and runs until October 23rd. The lineup of films is amazing and there is nothing better on a rainy day than a bucket of popcorn and beautiful queer cinema.
As a bonus, our location in the 12th Ave Arts Building is going to be the official Festival Lounge all weekend! We are going to be serving up craft cocktails, beer, wine on top of delicious dumplings. We will be offering happy hour prices to anyone who comes in with their festival badge until October 23rd. We’re super excited to be involved with this festival and glad that we can be a part of a community that values art in its many forms.
On top of this weekends’ opening festivities, there will be ongoing events happening all over Capitol Hill during the two week long festival. Our suggestion is to check out the Twist website and make a plan for all the films and events you’d like to see so you can make sure not to miss out on anything! Make sure you also check out TWIST360º, which is the first-ever queer immersive media festival exploring the intersection of queer culture, art, cinema, and technology. Programs will run concurrent with the TWIST Queer Film Festival and will feature a dazzling array of immersive VR (virtual reality) experiences.
So grab your raincoat (who needs an umbrella.. psshh) and brave the storm for a movie and some popcorn- but make sure you leave room for some warm dumplings and a beer or two!
